The Polar Express Experience....Take Two!!

I say take two for this reason... We originally had tickets for Dec 16, Patrick's birthday. We told Yums we had a surprise for him, got him all dolled up in his new Christmas PJs that Grandmommy got him, and headed for Eustis. Just outside of Minneola we stopped to get him some cough medicine, as his cough was picking up. We figured it was allergy-imduced from playing in the grass right before we left. Right as we pull into the Walgreens parking lot Yums coughed so hard he made himself throw up....again and again and again! He was instantly heartbroken, knowing we wouldn't be heading to our surprise after all. I quickly got on the phone and called the train station, asking them if we could reschedule. He heard me say "Polar Express" and he just cried saying he wanted to go to "the movie." My heart just broke for him. Thankfully they were able to get us on the following Tuesday!

We still didn't tell Yums where we were going, and thankfully he had forgotten about the Polar Express part. He was SO excited once we pulled up to the train station to get out tickets to board! We ran around out by the lake until the train pulled up, then took our seats headed for the North Pole! There were carols, cookies, hot cocoa complete with a hot chocolate dance inspired by the movie. Even Santa boarded the train and came by to give the kids all a bell. It was a GREAT time and I can't wait to take him again next year!!
