Sarasota 2010
We had SUCH a great time in Sarasota this year!! Last year Yums was still very afraid of the water - wouldn't get his face wet, would only go in with his shark floaties on. Thanks to Ms Kim at SwimKidsUSA we had a TOTALLY different experience this time! He was more than happy to be thrown around the pool by daddy, swim in the ocean, and do canon balls when the pool nahtzi wasn't around!
We rented a charter boat this year, which took us around the little islands of Sarasota. Yums even got to catch his first fish, all by himself!! He actually caught two pin fish (and an oyster!). We saw dolphins and manatees from the boat and a ton of birds! Even a bald eagle! We also did a boat tour through the MOTE Aquarium in Longboat Key with Grandma, Grandpa, Nonnie, and Aunt Marian. This tour ended with a trawl of the bottom of Sarasota Bay to see what sea creatures lived in the water. Yums go to see and touch two different kinds of puffer fish, a sea urchin, sea horses, many different species of crab and fish. To say he loved it would be an understatement!!
Sarasota was even more special this year because Nonnie came down! Yums loves nothing more than his family, and was so happy to have Nonnie see him splash in the waves and build sand castles! We'll have to get her down again next year for a few days!! :)
