Trick or Treat Trick or Treat Trick or Treat!!!

William screams as he jumps up and down for days before the 31st rolled around! We got his costume on him for pictures (for his birthday party invites) and introduced the concept of trick or treating about a month before Halloween...a month too early! From that point on he would bring us his pirate bucket asking for trick or treat. It was so cute, though...how do you not give in?!

Trick or treating started early, as Papa met us downtown to trick or treat along Montrose. William was SO cute in his little pirate costume and converse. Every stop along the way was met with "that's the cutest little boy I've ever seen"..."look at those eyes"..."oh my gosh he's gorgeous." All William wanted to hear was "here ya go" followed by a kerplunk of something non-chocolate in his bucket! (William doesn't like chocolate...neither do I, really...I prayed he wouldn't have my tastebuds...guessing that one wasn't answered) The highlight of the morning had to be seeing his dance teacher, Mrs Rosemary. Some days he's a little reluctant to go to class, but seeing Mrs Rosemary outside of the studio was very exciting. He will still wake up some mornings and ask to go see her!

The trickiest part about the whole trick or treating scene was trying to explain to a just-turned-two year old that you don't have to stop and eat every piece of candy you're given. Much easier to get through when it WASN'T a lollipop. Mind you, it's 10:00 in the morning! I'm pretty certain that at least 6 lollipops were devoured between 7th and 8th street! He had a really great time though and it will probably be what he remembers most about Halloween!

Later that night we trick or treated at Aunt GeeGee's for a little while then headed over to Kolton's house for Halloween Clermont-style, complete with ATV hay rides! Kolton and Ellie were excited for him to arrive and tackled him to the ground to show their love! Once the sun went down we loaded the kids into the trailor (William of course buried himself entirely in the hay and thus became known as the pirate scarecrow) and headed out. William made it to all of three houses before begging to go "bye bye bye" and to bed. He crashed as soon as his little head hit his pillow!
