Christmas Part 3a

Just a few from Christmas Eve...  At two, William doesn't quite get what all the Santa Claus hoopla is all about.  We tried to give him bits and pieces this year, enough to get him excited.  That he did, as every man we saw from November on with white hair or a beard was Santa!  Every single time we would be in Publix or Target I'd be shushing him as he exclaimed "HI SANTA!!!!"  

One thing he really got into was leaving "hot nyuck (milk)" and cookies for Santa.  I some how got him to agree that it'd be okay NOT to heat Santa's milk up, that Santa likes it cold, but he made sure to pick out the biggest cookies he could find to leave for Santa.  He didn't want to stop at two, but I assured him that Santa didn't need any more and that more cookies did not equal more presents!  We put the cookies and milk on a little plate and Papa helped him leave it in front of the tree.  We told Yums good job, that Santa would come eat the cookies while he was sleeping and leave presents, so lets go to bed!  Uh...no!  That wasn't happening.  Yums plopped his happy butt down next the cookies and was NOT moving!  He was letting us know he was going to wait for Santa!  After some prodding and explaining we were able to get him to his room and into bed where he thankfully fell right to sleep.  Just in time for Santa's helpers to go put together all the "Some assembly required" Christmas presents Santa was nice enough to pick out! :)
