There Are No Words...

Well, none that I should say out loud!! Yums was fighting nap time today, as always, but finally quieted down around 2:00. I figured all was well, he had fallen asleep. I make a few phone calls, catch up on some emails...then I hear him. I'm on the phone with Jenn and I hear him banging on the door to come out. So I head to his room to let him out, figuring he either had a super short nap or just wasn't going to today. I opened the door and found THIS:

And that's where he took his little butt as soon as he heard my reaction....straight to time out.

Everywhere you see grey it's FEATHERS. Feathers from the down comforter on his bed. Thankfully he didn't cut the Pirate quilt or his sheets (I don't think), but they both got their fair share of marker! Seriously, the entire room, my son included, was covered in grey FLUFF.

I get to blame my husband a little bit for this :) Four days ago the closet door came off the track in Yums' room. He told me he fixed it, but well...obviously not!! We have those locks for bi-fold doors on them so Yums can't get in and keep a lot of craft supplies and such in there. Well apparently Yums was not interested in sleeping, but instead wreaking havoc on his bedroom. He got into the closet, opened up a plastic storage container, took out a pencil case with some markers and kid scissors in it, and proceeded to use his down comforter for an art project. And his sheets....they're covered in LOVELY designs!

And on top of the comforter and sheets, he colored on himself and cut holes in his underwear. Dude, what sane MALE would get scissors that close to...well...you know?! I guess you can't really use "sane" and "two year old" in the same sentence, can you?! And this afternoon you CERTAINLY can't use "Mommy" and "sane" in the same sentence!! Lord, I know you have amazing things in store for this little man, but seriously...he is DRIVING ME INSANE!!!!!

What a mess! It must be a two year old thing. My 2 yr old twin daughters got into the markers last week. I took shots of them covered in ink. One even colored with black in her mouth!!

tfs!

OMG YUMS NOOOO! He is so much like Devin it's SCARY. I should go dig out the photos of D at age 3 when he was "napping" one day and covered his entire body and his bedroom walls and basically anything less than 3 feet high off the floor with black PERMANENT marker, and CUT HIS HAIR DOWN TO THE SCALP with "safety" scissors!!!! {{big hugs}}, I know you need them!

omigoodness, this is SO something that Emmy would do right now. I bought her a pair of blunt-tipped "elephant" scissors a few weeks back, and her absolute favorite thing to do now is "SNIP!" everything in sight. She is always snipping paper all over the house and it's a huge pain to vaccuum up. Luckily she hasn't "SNIPPED" her hair yet. Or her bedding! LOL I feel for you, but you know what? I LOVE two years old. It's my fave! :)

OMGawd....I feel for you. I could tell you stories about my youngest. I used to sit outside her closed door, on the foor, crying b/c I just couldn't take one more mischevious moment from her and couldn't leave her alone b/c she would just wreck everything around her. Luckily she outgrew that stage and has become a wonderful adult :)
