The holidays will never be the same again...

We're big "traditioners" around here and have always LOVED celebrating the holidays with Yums. Whether he fully understood or not why we were so excited, it didn't matter! Every holiday until this one, though, he's gotten overwhelmed quickly. He enjoyed the fun of it, but was quickly OVER IT! This year, though...this year is going to be a BLAST!!

Yums was SO excited about Halloween this year. So excited to be Peter Pan, so excited to go trick or treating, SO excited about his birthday (but that's another post I'll hopefully get to later this week!)... It brought tears to our eyes to see how much fun he was having with everything. We had big plans for how we were spending Halloween this year. In the morning was his Halloween party at precshool, which I stayed to help with; early evening we planned to spend at Real Life's Fall Festival; and the evening was going to be filled with door-to-door trick or treating in Kolton's neighborhood while being pulled around in a hay-filled trailer by Kolton's Dad's Rhino...which he enjoyed last year, but was REALLY excited about this year!

The preschool party was a lot of fun! This month's theme was the ocean, so all the kids were encouraged to dress up as sea creatures. We opted for a shark and threw a costume together quickly, complete with a spray-painted grey faux-hawk/fin. He wasn't wanting to let me take any photos but I managed to grab a quick one:

After 3 hours of begging him to nap and a short one-hour mini-nap we headed to Real Life for their Fall Festival (but not without some practice trick or treating first!). I'm so glad we got there early as the place was PACKED when we left. People were parking blocks away and hiking up the huge hill to the church.  Yums took part in a few of the games, but for the most part was only interested in the "candy grab."  They had a bounce house and pony rides outside, but with all the people running around and the live band blaring music he was a tad too overwhelmed to want to participate.  That and he just wanted to get to Kolton's house!

(Don't worry...I photoshopped him higher than he actually was...Peter Pan's gotta fly, right?!)
