Year-End Review...

My 30 favorite photos (of Yums) from 2008:

Got lucky with this capture!  I had no idea that squirrel was there til I looked at it on my computer.

I remember taking this as Yums and I sat outside on the porch swing waiting on UPS to deliver my 85mm 1.8.

This was taken the first morning of preschool at the "bad preschool" (as Yums calls it).  It only lasted two weeks, but he was SO excited to go!

Snuck up behind him for this one...he never knew I was there.  The jeans that he's wearing cuffed up 4 inches are his current favorites and the perfect length now.

I love that this one sparked so much inspiration in other photographers to try it as well!

Gotta love FL...he was in a heavy sweater, hat and BAREFOOT when I took him outside for these!

I'm obsessed with the tons of photos I have of him in overalls and the angel wings!

Another lucky capture!  Didn't realize I had captured this glimpse into his TRUE personality until we got home.

This was taken at a Mediterranean restaurant we ate at a few times on our vacation in the Bahamas.  We had the BEST time and are looking into going back this year.  He was SO happy the entire trip.

My FAVORITE times with Yums are spent doing things that create memories he'll remember forever, like playing in the rain or dancing to Christmas songs in the living room.

I took him out back with a bag of marshmallows because the light was just too good to pass up and got this shot...

This shot brought tears to my eyes when I saw it because it's SO him.  One of those looks they make that you hope you can catch sometime so you never forget it.

Another random downtown shoot, but I just loved the old Hollywood feeling of this shot.  I think he's channeling James Dean.

I believe this was taken as I was practicing shooting wide open with my 85mm in the backyard.  The bokeh, the clarity, the colors, his look...I just <3>

Oh, I adore this shot!!! We were in GA and I had taken him out for a little shoot and as he was walking away from me I called his name and this is what I got. 

This shot is representative of the entire sunset shoot from GA.  Probably the first time I've ever been happy with my backlit images.

Lucky capture #42516!  This quite possibly could be my favorite photo of the bunch.

No wait, maybe THIS one is my favorite!  The "pig trail" next to my parents' cabin in GA.  It's the reason I love going up there in October.

I've had this shoot idea in my head for a while, so we all played hooky for the day and headed to Ponce Inlet.  It just screams little boy to me.

The next three photos are from my FAVORITE time out shooting with Yums to date.  He was so into it and we just had a blast being together.  This shot is probably the first one I've had printed of him in YEARS (sad, huh?).

Oh, this look...it melts my heart!

Getting this shot was a nightmare...but the outcome was worth it! ;)
