You on your "three halves birfday"...
April 26, 2009
Well, little man...we made it to three and a half!! (And with only one major injury!!) You're such a big boy now, as you remind me all the time. Just today while you were on the phone talking to Grandma I couldn't believe how well you were holding a conversation and the phrases that were coming out of your mouth: "Hi Grandma, it's me!"
As you and Papa remind me frequently, Mommy can't remember anything!! So because I never want to forget the little man you are at this exact second in time, this blog entry will serve as my memory 6 months from now when I'm struggling to remember the blink of an eye that was Year Three.
* You LOVE your Mama. You're hands-down a Mama's Boy and proud of it. You don't even like Papa touching me right now and remind him frequently "That's MY Mommy!"
* You are crazy about your "fourly-wheeler." You went through a phase where you were afraid of it, but not now! You're a total daredevil on that thing and Mommy has the video to prove it!!
* You say you're going to marry your preschool teacher, Mrs Danielle. She's certainly done a number on you, little man!
* You have the BEST manners but one HECK of an attitude! You genuinely believe you're a grown-up and nothing we say seems to make you believe otherwise!
* You're so family-orientated, and enjoy nothing more than being around your grandparents and Gee (although you love to drive her nuts now by calling her Dee-Dee!)
* You act like a dog 90% of the day, complete with wanting to eat off the floor, barking, and scratching your ear with your foot. It was cute at first...now not so much!
* Your first imaginary friend was "Crickie" a teeny-tiny puppy dog that lived in people's pockets, but "Casper" is the friend who's stuck around the longest. You talk about Casper CONSTANTLY, but seem to understand he's not real and it's all just a fun game!
* Your favorite song is Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas. You love it when Mommy turns her Bass all the way up and it makes the car shake!
* Your friend Mady came down to visit and she helped you conquer your fear of the ocean. Now you run and jump in the waves like a madman! I'm so proud of you!
* You've taught yourself to add but still have no interest in learning your letters. You can however write a "W" for William and are SO proud to show us.
* You ADORE "Special Mommy-Yummies Days" but I secretly love them more than you do. I hope you still love them as much 10...20...30 years from now!
* As hard as Mommy and Papa are trying to give you the baby sister you keep asking for, I secretly love all the extra time I'm getting with just you. I can't wait til this summer when it's me and you again all day!
* Try as we may, we still can't keep you from coming into our bed in the middle of the night. You used to sneak in without waking anyone up, but now you come in asking for a "clean butt" and telling us all about the dream you just had. And again, I secretly love it. One day soon you won't come in...you won't fall asleep on top of me...you won't hold me hand or ask "pease Mommy cuddle me." I'm really not ready for those days to come.
From the time you were you born you were in SUCH a hurry to grow up and be BIG. But now...now it seems you love being my baby. And I wouldn't have it any other way!!
